A VPS is a whole server you control: your own operating system, root access, and the freedom to install anything. You need one when you want to run something that is not a website — a bot, a scheduled job, a background worker, a database, a game or chat service. If you only want to put a website online, our normal web hosting is cheaper and far less work.

Yes, and this is the main reason our customers use us rather than a US provider. Servers are billed in Trinidad & Tobago dollars and paid by local bank transfer, prepaid for 3, 6 or 12 months. There is no card subscription and nothing renews behind your back. Longer terms are discounted 5% at six months and 10% at twelve.

A real one. Every server is a hardware-virtualised machine running its own Linux kernel under KVM, using Firecracker — the same microVM technology behind AWS Lambda and Fargate. It is not a container sharing a kernel with other customers, which matters because a shared kernel means one customer's exploit can become everyone's problem.

By SSH key. Add your public key in the dashboard and it is written into the server when it is built. There is no password login, on purpose: a VPS with password authentication gets found and brute-forced within hours of coming online. Alpine Linux, which boots in about a second and leaves almost all of a small server's memory for your own software. You get root, the apk package manager and full control. On a 256 MB server the OS itself idles at roughly 19 MB.

Outbound SMTP is blocked by default. One compromised server sending spam gets the whole platform's IP address blacklisted, which would affect every customer we host. If you have a legitimate need, use a transactional email API such as Postmark, Resend or SendGrid over HTTPS — which is what we would recommend even if the ports were open.

Your server is suspended, not deleted, and we contact you. It stays recoverable for 14 days so a missed transfer does not cost you your work. After that the disk is wiped and the resources are released. You can take a copy of your data at any time over SFTP or rsync.

Our infrastructure is operated from Trinidad & Tobago. Support is answered in Caribbean hours by the people who run the platform, not an overseas ticket queue.
